The
Serenity Prayer
God Grant Me the Serenity to Accept the Things I
Cannot Change
• To endure and understand my child’s disability,
knowing my child did not ask to be this way.
• Parents, spouses, professionals, educators,
families and friend’s denial and indifference
about my child’s disability. Parents are often in
front of the train, and it often takes other’s
light years to catch up.
Courage to Change the Things I Can
• Patience to endure their denial and the strength
to constantly keep educating and advocating.
• Patience to keep my calm when people make
thoughtless remarks based on their ignorance.
• Learning how to advocate and be a voice for my
child.
And the Wisdom to Know the Difference
• The wisdom that we know are children better than
any one else.
• The wisdom of knowing that through love,
courage, understanding, education and advocacy, we
as parents will be drawn closer to the light and
learn the difference.
In the immortal words of our children who have
be forced to sit through countless hours of
speech, language, genetic, psychological,
neurological testing, children who have the
attention span of a flea and stand up and announce
10 minutes into testing, “I have had ENOUGH, I am
DONE, get out of MY face, your HISTORY, GO AWAY …
FINIS
Our motto is quite simple, we might not always
agree; but TOGETHER we will make a difference.

Taking
Action Against Language Disorders in Kids
We
were a support group dedicated to providing
information to the public, medical and educational
community on the importance or early recognition
and treatment of speech and language disorders.
Communication is a privilege and not a gift. We
believed it was a gift that will help ensure a
successful education, good social skills,
emotional growth and the ability to lead a
productive life. We had chosen to become a voice
for children with speech and language impairments
and held ourselves accountable as their
advocates. TALK is no longer active.
